Oak Hill Cemetery was established on 10 acres of land in 1844, and many of Battle Creek's original settlers bought lots in the cemetery for their families. Today, Oak Hill encompasses 53 acres and it is still arguably the most historically significant cemetery (along with the Dubois Cemetery off Beckley Road, where many Lakeview area pioneers are buried) in greater Battle Creek.

Oak Hill has always been common ground for the rich, the famous and the poor, as well as persons of all races, religions and political persuasions. More than 28,000 people are buried there.

Potter's field was the name of the cemetary where poor people were buried.

Hmm... the only thing I can think of is Potter's Field in NY, I think... but that's probably not what you're looking for.

Sorry! I hope someone else can give you more help. ^_^
