My music tastes have changed recently, i used to like The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, The Kaiser Chiefs, stuff like that, and now I've realised that it isn't that good (no offence to anybody who likes them, they still are good I guess, just... not my thing...)
Anyway, I want to have a listen to some new stuff, so any suggestions would be great. I've started to get more into stuff like Muse and Sigur Ros, which I like because the music carries it and the lyrics aren't the main focus, but I'm also looking for some really good song writing too (I think I want, lyrics that are meaningful, maybe thats what i mean). As for genres; I'm pretty flexible, So, I'd appreciate your input! Surprise me!

Thanks in advance

try different types of jazz if you want good music. (there are at least a hundred sub-genres in jazz, at least one should appeal to you).
meaningful lyrics? i always thought bob dylan was pretty deep, tho' his singing sucks. there must be some roots/folk artists whose lyrics will strike a chord with you.

check out web sites on the artists you like, find the artists they like and check them out. you'll be surprised, i find that when i really like a group/artist i find myself having similar musical tastes.

I think you would like Hinder. I'm sure you've heard their song "Lips of an Angel" but there are some really great songs on their album that have really good lyrics

I know alot of people who like Sigur Ros, but I never got into them myself. A little too slow for me, but they are not bad. You might like Eisley, mewithoutYou, Copeland, Lovedrug, and Mae.
Hope this helps!

well for me i like all types of music and will listen to anything except hip-hop, rap, and stupid pop stuff. For me as mature so will your senses and you will grow to like more emotional music not emo music but good music ask friend what they like and listen to everything until you find what you like.
