Im really into Tracy Chapman, John Mayer, Gavin Degraw type music. I like folksy, bluesy stuff, and a lot of modern stuff, any suggestions?

Mmmm... quite a range there. Try some "Elliot Smith". If that's too mellow, crank it up one notch to "Iron and Wine", "The Great Lake Swimmers", or even "The Shins".

For blues, you might like "Eric Bibb" as he's pretty folky and plays a mean guitar. "Amos Lee", too.

Good luck.

How 'new' of a sound are you going for? If you want something TOTALLY different, you might like CAN. They are an old band, but good. Very different, ultra modern in sound. If you run across some, give it a chance if you don't like it at first. I always try to listen to music like tasing wine or something- savor it for a minute or two. Just a suggestion. I like Tracy chapman too.
