Logic? It's more like a continuum, with outright, unabashed racism/nationalism at one end and at the other, the Frankfurt School (look it up).

Anyway, between the extremes of exchanging hollow invictives and being afraid to speak, lest you offend someone, there are things like common courtesy and intellectual discourse.

I think it's more a question of the "intent" behind someone's speech. If you're telling black jokes to a black man, you'd better be either a good comedian or a good friend. If you "kid" some asian coworker or student excessively, I'd say you may have some personal issues.

I think one of the most hilarious and insightful comedians in my lifetime is Carlos Mencia. This guy is bright, witty, and he'll hand out the a∆∆ (boy, Yahoo won't even let you say ***) whoopings as they're deserved, whether your Hispanic, Asian, Caucasion, Black, or Martian. Stupid is as stupid does.
Here's your sign.

And of course, Ron White's,"you can't fix stupid."

And stupid exists in both of the major political parties.

Was that a good answer?

I tried.

You've gotten good answers so far, but I would also add that the hidden logic behind political correctness is to stifle discussion.

People have become so concerned about being criticized for saying something challenging to the politically correct crowd...as if EVERYTHING the target group says MUST be correct. Obviously, that can't be true.

Also when someone DOES say something politically incorrect, instead of discussing the validity (or not) of the statement, they just use a politically correct "red flag" word, i.e., racist, bigot, homophobe, sexist, etc. That immediately stops any discussion...which is the hidden agenda.

Political Correctness started off with good intentions. The basis for it was, "let's not call someone a retard. That is not nice. Let's say developmentally disabled". But it snowballed (thank you democrats) into an insane way for people who are intolerant of something to say, "Christmas trees offend me. They are not politically correct, so you must take them down." And now it is not even politically correct to call somebody stupid anymore. You have to say, "liberal"

Read 1984. The logic is to change the meaning of words beyond a point where people can have a conversation that is not "state sanctioned" because there is no word or the word is considered "bad"

Brave New World is another good one. People could not conceive of a family because the word 'family' was considered profane.

It's illogical by definition. Politics over logic.

Not that one would feel sorry or feel baised toward a certain group or interests, that logic should focus on how to make things better for everybody. I doubt whether the current US president is doing that. Good answer to my question by the way.

It is called being polite, and it really doesn't hurt to say the magic words. Please and thankyou will get you further then most words. I find nothing wrong with calling seniors sir or madam. I do believe some take it to the extreme but the basics are not all that bad.

The term "political correctness" comes from Marx's Communist Manifesto. Enough said.

So that people who get offended easily dont get their feelings hurt.

Its not really logical as it almost just constitutes lying to not offend people

To keep peoples little pansy feelings from being hurt.
God forbid someone feel bad about themselves or see anything that offends their little prissy eyes or offends their ears.
You dont like something dont look at it.
