The question almost asks to be snowed with BS. That is almost how you have to answer it. I am not familiar with Sainsburys, but if it is a retail establishment, tell them you have been shopping there for years, you love the products, and you want to become part of the "team". I know it may not be true, but it's what they want to hear. Simply writing down that you need a job to make some money won't cut it. They feel you can do that anywhere, and are looking for an answer that will make you stand out from other candidates for the job.
Hope that helps.

What a dumb question for an employer to ask, I think. Well folks, I'm here applying, isn't that good enough?? LOL!!! IS there some reason you want to work there? The clientele? The hours, the pay?

you want to help the team deliver the best possible level of customer service.
You want to help customers have a great experiance whilst shopping within the store.
You want to help deliver the best possible results towards the company's business targets.
You want a job which is very rewarding and gives great satisfaction through helping others and operating as part of the team.
and so on and so on!
Good Luck!

You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit
http://ommc.blogspot.com
I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)
