The proper term is actually Kitten. Why this term has been dubbed for a baby rabbit is unknown. Especially since the female is called a "doe" and the male is called "buck", you would think that something more along the lines of "fawn" would be fitting, as with deer.
Breeders more commonly called their rabbits offspring "kits". Or refer to "the litter". And commonly, just "the babies".

I know this one,flopsy topsy and cottontail .No sorry about that Ireally do know there is no other official name for the young of rabbits in the english language young or old they are called rabbits. in france however the adults are called rabuole` and the young are called rabuolette.

usually kittens but the word rabbit originally referred to young rabbits that were out of the nest and able to look after themselves. adult rabbits were called coneys. but the word rabbit was eventually used for all stages of their life. and coney was left in the past.
