He'll be remembered by historians for making the critical mistake of ignoring the media who in turn brainwashed the nation into thinking he was a failure. One of the lessons all subsequent presidents will learn is don't marginalize the press.
He will also be noted for creating the greatest economy in the history of the nation with the longest sustained run. Unlike the dot-com economic run of the late 90's which was doomed to fail, this economy is building real value in blue chip stocks and the DJIA. There was historic unemployment with most of the country and 15,000,000 illegal immigrants employed, personal wealth grew, people living in poverty shrunk, wages grew faster than inflation, the trade deficit halved and the increase in the GDP was double the national deficit.
He'll also be known for surrounding himself with political handlers who concerned themselves more with results than public relations.
Others will learn from his PR and media fiascos and historians will remember his top flight economy.

George W. Bush's presidency is not yet over, so I think that great deal will be determined by what happens in his final two years in office. If the situation in the middle east keeps getting worse, his actions could be the cause of some very dark years to come.
It is hard to say how he will be remembered because there is a huge disparity between what is true and what people believe. This administration has been quite deft at manipulating the opinions of the American public through distortion of the truth and outright lies.
However, I think that eventually the truth will come out. I think that Bush's actions will be judged harshly 20 years from now. Whether or not we will learn from it, though, is another matter.

as long as historians do not care approximately your rights and freedoms - Patriot Act. or approximately economic accountability - 9 trillion money of debt, and counting. Or approximately government corruption - too many to show. family members themes - catastrophe reaction, city ghettos, crumbling faculties and different infrastructure etc. How does your boss be responsive to he secured an oil grant? Are human beings announcing that that's what this conflict is approximately? there is hypothesis that if it heats up in Iran oil is zooming over $one hundred a barrel. And that's possibly the U. S. would be entrenched militarily interior the mid east for some years. Genius, rather?

I think that is all going to dependd on who is writing the book. If you are talking about School History books, then I imagine the section on Bush and Saddam to be slightley skewed. I envision Saddam being portrayed as a man who was just trying to do his best and was wrongly overthrown by "evil" Bushco (as people like to say).
Sometimes i wonder if alot of History we learned went down the way it did.

I honestly believe that he could go down as one of the great ones. He may seem stubborn now, but Iraq could turn into the next South Korea.. In the Middle East, this would be huuuuge..
If only people didn't laugh at him when he wanted to privatize social security and when he declared that we should be going to the moon and eventually to Mars.
He has unquestionably made mistakes in his time in office, but who hasn't?

He will be remembered as we remember Lincoln. Lincoln was hated during his time but is known as a president who helped us weather a serious crisis. The same with Bush, maybe not in 20 years, but within 100.

I think he'll have a better overall legacy than Clinton.
People whine and complain all the time, despite having every convenience in the world, having a roaring economy, and the lowest unemployment rate in decades. We're just spoiled, ungrateful pricks, if you ask me.
Hopefully, he'll be remembered for having kept the American people safe from terrorist attacks from the date Sept. 12, 2001 all the way through the rest of his presidency.
