Use the library for now. Ask your dad to help you with your homework then he will see how important the internet can be. Back in my day we didnt have the internet it was all about the books. Be grateful you have an internet connection now, some kids don't. If you involve him with your homework he might see how slow it is and upgrade. Another suggestion is tell him you want high speed internet and you are willing to get a job to pay for it. He will see that you feel it is important and are willing to work for it, you will win the respect from your dad and he might get it for you or let you earn the money yourself. Don't make him try to buy it by hounding him, take this approach and you will see how well it will work out for you.

If your family ends up getting high speed, then great. But if your dad won't go for it ($24 a month is not nothing!), consider doing research at the library. They probably have high speed there; plus they have something called books!

1. he'll go 4 it
2. go to the library
3. volenteer to pay 4 it
4. get a note from him
5. tell him u'll drop out

i was once in that situation, except, we didnt even HAVE internet... and my parents disapproved of the library.... i ended up getting a 50... which brought my PERFECT grade down to a B.... i was sooooo close to A honor roll that yr.

Maybe try saying not having the high speed internet access will badly affect your grades; appeal to his guilt feelings!!

this is has nothing to do with money . if you really need it for school projects then tell him or tell your teacher to write him a note . but you might be glad if you have an internet connection even if it's slow

I was totally in the same situation. Just crack it with him and say that you really need it for school. If he doesn't agree to it then, tell him you'll drop out of school, worked for me eventually :)

Good luck.

He won't fall for it. Remember some of managed to pass exams long before it was thought of. Use BOOKS, they are just like the internet, but you have to turn the page yourself. You can find them in LIBRARIES.

if he's too old fashioned and stubborn, use the library's computers and your school's computers or a neighbor's. if you are constantly running out to use the net, he might break down and buy it,
