It seems that bause the majority of answers related to saudi arabia is derogatory because of Dubya's business association with the Royal family. But why do you generalize that all Saudi's are terrorists?

I used to think conservatives were very intolerant towards Arabs in general but now I am starting to think otherwise.

Jenny good point but note that the money trail is being monitored very well now with new anti-money laundering laws under the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) aninternational body that audits all saudi banks.

If you think Saudi is really our friend you have never been there. They tolerate us because of the money they get from us via oil and handouts. I don't consider myself to be a Rep or Dem but I am a Conservative. Look at where the 9/11 hijackers came from and ask yourself would a friend do that.

Saudi Arabia has consistently gotten passes from this government for doing the exact things we criticize other Arab governments for doing. The human rights abuses and tyrannical behavior on the part of the Saudis is completely ignored.

Bush gave his speech and chastised Iran and Syria for helping terrorist undermine American goals in Iraq. He conveniently left the Saudis out of the equation. Money trails from insurgent groups in Iraq have led to Saudi Arabia. Why is America not pronouncing harsh judgments against them, but does so against Iran and Syria?

Not to mention the 9-11 connection. We went to war with Afghanistan for training these men, but they were actually Saudis. Come on. Open your eyes.

edit:

15 of the 19 is a pretty high percentage, to ignore that bit of information seems reckless.

As for the money, does the fact that they can't do it now without getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar negate the fact that they had been doing it previously? Our "friends" wouldn't promote terrorism in a country we are trying to stabilize. And our government shouldn't apply the admonishment unevenly. Do you think having a double standard helps our cause in that part of the region? I think not.
