My parents would freak out if they find out about it and my friends wouldn't understand...... What shall I do? Should I just keep things on the downlow for a little while?

You need to give more details about the age difference and how old you are and how old he is etc.If you are both adults then no big deal but if you are just a young thing well you might want to cool the relationship.

I'm not sure what state you are in, but you should probably find out what the state statutes are on age because, for example, if you are 12 and he is 19 you should probably keep your relationship on the downlow, even from your friends, because it is illegal. But if you are of a responsible age and you care very much for this person and you have been with him for at least a month I would mention him to family.
I once dated someone older and I actually brought him over and introduced him to them before they even asked about his age. They thought he was a nice guy and his good heart and manners made their concern about the age difference become minimal.

No way! You should definately tell your parents - i'vee seen too many young people (particularily girls) who have ended up getting REAL hurt because they dated an "older guy". I mean physically hurt (raped, murdered). If you love your parents you would let them know. The benefit of letting them know is that they can protect you if anything bad happens. I know you may think that you really like, or even LOVE this guy, but emotions alot of times fade - and sometimes the ones that can hurt us the most are the ones that are the closest to us.I.e : This older guy youre seeing.

Geez I hope you're not under 18 and he's over 18. If this is the case then you shouldn't keep it on the downlow, you should shut it off.

What is the age difference? How old are you vs. the guy? I think you want to start off on the right foot, be honest and you won't have to sneak around and try to explain where you were, etc. When you lie, it always catch up to you.

how old are you and him? if you are 18 then they can't stop you from seeing him so i would tell them, if you love him they should understand if they don't they will come round to it. but try not to keep it a secret for too long people will not like it more if they find out you were keeping it from them

It sounds like you found yourself a SUGAR DADDY(someone older than you) I think as long as he is treating you right, KEEP IT ON THE DOWN LOW UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO LET PEOPLE KNOW.

Are you an adult? Why not show it by declaring your adult choice unapologetically?

Are you under legal age? Why are you sneaking around?

If you want to hide this man from your friends AND family, that tells me you know you're doing something ill-advised.

If your 15 and he is 37, dump him. If you have sex with him, he could go to jail.
