I've always read that the average person can't really tell a difference between cd quality and mp3 quality. I can tell quite a big difference when I plug my earphones into a cd player as opposed to an mp3 player. I wonder if a wav file would sound as good as the cd. Device memories are getting so massive now, I wouldn't mind sacrificing the memory space.

make sure you get an mp3 (or encode your own) with a sample rate od 320kbits ...you will NOT notice the differance then. i'm actualy not sure if an mp3 player will play uncompressed wav...it should be easy but...easy dont mean it can do it o.0
btw 1Minute ~ 50MB of wav wheras 1Minute ~ 2MB of 320kbit mp3

Ok Listen up...

There are portable players that can play WAV, MP3, and WMA, and also a lot of video files.

GO TO www.creative.com

And look for the Creative ZEN Vision M.

It can play both WAV, MP3, and WMA!

I really have considered few mini-blend gadgets ( combine radio, CD, and MP3) from Philips, JVC, have an USB port and may play MP3 straight away from the exterior reminiscence. yet i'm not particular even if it would want to play from HDD. Theoritically an USB exterior HDD is not any distinct from a thumbdrive from record equipment attitude. so it is going to likely be ok.
