What is the Democrats plan for victory in Iraq. I don't want to hear what they wouldn't do. I want to hear what they WOULD do. Cut and run is not a plan for victory.

True. You just can't cut and run. However, there are ways to seriously fight the war in a winning strategy that we are just not doing. If we took this war as seriously as we did WWII, we would have won by now. But fight it like Vietnam is just going to demoralize and divide the American people.

I don't care to think in the shoes of such traitorous guys like Dick Durbin and Kennedy. They don't really care if we win or not; they've got some other agenda on their minds.

What would you consider to be the victory condition? Extermination of all Terrorists (never going to happen), removing anti-American culture from the middle east (definately never going to happen), making Iraq an American dependancy (hardly a victory.) In my oppinion, there is no way for America to win this 'war', in the eyes of most of the world, they've already lost. They lost the day it was discovered that Iraq was harbouring no weapons of mass destruction. Remember, the attack on Afghanistan was America's big push on terror. This is just a groundless occupation.

Under these conditions, the lines between terror and valour become blurred. For instance, resistance fighters ae not terrorists, they are men fighting to free their country from an unwelcome force. I'd reckon most of us would do the same in their position.

I think the time for tanks and troops has passed. This war can no longer be fought with bullets and shells. It's time for them to pull back and consider the ramifications of what they've done to the country, not just press on in the blind hope that everything will end up fine.

it is true that you can not simply "cut-n-run" as the republicans put it. and that is not what the majority of the democrats are proposing. they want to stop sending more and more americans to thier deaths and slowly start withdrawing troops as the existing Iraqi Government starts to form an army and stop giving them a free ride. there is no checks and ballances in bush's plans for Iraq to start to stand on its own. if we slowly start withdrawing, it gives them incentive to start building defence against thier enemies. I suggest we set a goal of completely withdrawing over a span of a year or so.

They will keep in Iraq until they can steal as much money and oil as they can and then leave Iraq to be divided into smaller weaker countries

They have a current plan that will almost guarantee victory. Unfortunately it will be victory for the terrorist.
