At this stage Stem Cell technology does not have much to offer apart from the medical applications. Your last "other than" is a bit of a broad catch all ...

Stem cells are human cells which have the capacity to turn into any specific human cell type. This means in theory that if you could inject the stem cells into a region of the body and give them the appropriate stimulus to turn into the cell type you want, you could replace dead cells or grow new cells - in particular there is the theoretical possibility of replacing cell types that have not previously been able to be replaced - eg. nerve cells or cardiac muscle cells.

This has specific implications in the possibilities of regaining nerve cells after a stroke or healing damaged nerves, particularly in the case of paraplegics/quadriplegics. Heart attack victims might be able to regrow the cardiac muscle

A recent article in the Student BMJ postulates that cancer may well be a disease of stem cells and understanding of this aspect of stem cells may further our efforts against cancer and enable the development of "magic bullet" immunoglobulins which could help us cure many more cancers.

NON MEDICAL APPLICATIONS of stem cells

I don't think anybody has looked at this so you will not find any proof.

However you could imagine stem cells being used in the field of:

Manufacture - grow a stem cell like a glandular cell and create any protein(s) you desire

Cosmetics - what people are achieving now with botox, liposuction and implants could possibly be achieved with stem cells - even experimental cosmetics where people are implanting bone or metal under their skin - imagine implanting stem cells on your nose and growing it into a prehensile elephant's trunk ... if that sort of thing turns you on.
