Most computers used only about 500 watts of power. That's like leaving 5 100-watt light bulbs on all the time. If your electric bill has increased, your computers probably aren't the culprit; I'd be more inclined to think that a heating/cooling system or other large consumer of power is to blame.

Computers doesnt consume a lot of power/electricity. But household appliances do consume much electricity. So everytime u leave the house, u need to put off all the electric lights, hmm, what about ur refrigerator? Are u going to pull off the plug? lol

The monitor of your computer may use a lot of power of electricity. So you sholud turn off your monitor, but you can leave your computer on.

not realy. your air conditioning and heater can use more in an hour than your computer will in a week.
well...unless ur insane like i am. i have 3 computers each pulling 500 watts minimum 24/7. even still my ac pulls MUCH more

it depend on what CPU u are using, if you using the Intel P.D it will save 40% of you power.

when really working a comp its like leaving a vanity lite on , but when in sleep mode its compareable to a couple of nite lites
