hi all, i have a computer that my friend helped me to self assembled 3-4 yrs ago, and now i have a problem with the ram. i had 2 identical rams, i dont know much about rams, i only know this is the type of ram i had -> http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configur...
1 of it is spoilt and my frend threw it away, can i know wat kind of ram can i take to go with this specific format of ram?

1. RAM is like how much memory you have. On this post you have a memory module of 256 MB. If the other side had 256 (the one you threw away) then you had 512 MB. Did you know you could get one with 512 MB of ram to give you a total of 756 or so of memory. If you can find the max memory that your computer can use, you could get 512 MB for each module. If your computer can use only 1GB of memory, then putting extra memory will be a waste of money. You could not buy 1 GB memory and put them on each slot to get 2 GB, your computer would not be able to use it, and waste of a $100. If fI knew the motherboard I could tell you, what you could use, since it is a self made computer.

Hi.Ram's can classifed in to two types..
1,sdram
2,ddram
sdram has two jacks in the pins.
ddram has one jack in the pins.
so u can easily identify wheather it is ddr r sdr ram..
