He's on a power trip. Anyone who disagrees with him gets booted from the inner circle. Anyone who embarrsses him is forced to resign.
Its been speculated that he has dyslexia and detests reading. Remember he once said "I dont read any newspapers. I know my aids can give me a short version of events". Those aides only tell him what he wants to hear and it has to be the good news, not the bad news.
It may also be affecting his language abilites. All those flubs and mistakes and repetitions he does when hes talking to the press or on TV. He sounds just like my 3 year old who uses the right words but puts them in the wrong order.
Then there the drinking. He is a dry drunk. A former alcoholic who stopped drinking, but was never treated (never went to AA meetings).
There is a book that was published in 2004 called Bush on the Couch. Its a VERY enlightening book. Using psycho-analysis it explains why he acts the way he does.
Heres another story about Bush.
To make a long story short, although former First Lady Barbara Bush had suggested to her new daughter-in-law Laura that it would be unwise to ever criticize "W", Laura Bush made the mistake of doing just that.
Once.
It was during the period of time when Bush was newly entering politics. He gave a speech that Laura had listened to very carefully.
Driving home from the political rally, George asked his young wife how she thought he did.
She told him honestly that she didn't think he had done as well as he might have.
The friend relating the story laughed that Bush was so furious at Laura's criticism that he drove clean through his back garage wall and right out the other side of the building.
The friend of George Bush who related the story thought it absolutely hilarious.
I didn't find it the least bit funny.
What I did think, was that it suggested a major character flaw and a horrifying lack of self control.
And the idea of a violent, uncontrolled response to nothing more than a minor criticism left me extremely uncomfortable with the idea of having George W. Bush at the helm of this country.

Good Question, I will try and answer it to the best of my ability. I am not a Bush fan, I am a fan o Bill Clinton. Perhaps the reason why he got re-elected is because the people of the United States seem to be very religious, and he comes across all god like. Believing every think he dos is for the good of the American people. Personally I think he is a greedy and vindictive man, wanting to use a war for his own political gains.

I like the potion theory, makes a change from conspiracy. The biggest flaw in the American democratic system is that you have to be mega rich and, so far, a white male to even run for President. There isn't as far as I know, any kind of psychometric testing involved in weeding out unsuitable candidates so any kind of mental weakness goes with the bundle. There has to be an element of male ego trip involved in becmoing President as well as the usual altruism. So, what am I saying? If Bush has mental deficiencies and is arrogant then that is what was elected.

He's actually approaching the presidency as a job, rather than a popularity contest and a chance to have oral sex in the Oval Office.
Until the Democrats can finally put forth someone who will get things done, "fellers" like Bush will need to be around.

The USA is a victim of a "coup de tat" by stealth.
If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Bush... How can i answer this question. Staying politcally correct, I think Bush is not fit to be a president. All he has accomplished were two wars, which he hasn't won. I think the only reason they both took place, Bush wants control of the Middle East because they are the biggest petrol, oil distributer. A war to fight terrorism. We don't even know if Osama Bin Laden is still alive. There are stories he died, so why are they still "looking" for him?
I think he was really not fit to be president. I think seeing that his father is a former president, that his father's influence and manouvered in the white house to ensure his son's position.

He got elected because he was the lesser of two evils and people thought that he should have to finish the mess he got us into, which he hasn't done.
I think that he is truly an idiot and I'm embarassed to have him as our 'leader".
In our recent elections, the Democrats took control (Bush is a republican) and you would think that would send a message to the Whitehouse that we don't like the direction he is taking us. But in his conceit, he refuses to admit he's wrong and has no good plan for the future of our country, the war, the economy, etc. We have to deal with him for two more years and then we'll see what happens.

George W Bush should never have been U.S. President. He only got where he did because of his father's powerful political connections.
He's incompetent, just look at his handling of the disasters of Hurricane Katrina and the war in Iraq. (He admitted responsibility in a speech this week)
Bush got re-elected because the candidates he was up against weren't very good, he was the lesser of two evils as the public knew him. Are John Kerry and Al Gore really the best America can put forward?
Bush is a lousy public speaker, his eyes are too close together and you can see his brain desperately scrambling to find the words when he has to answer questions. He usually comes up with something dumb or bland to say.

What a funny question. This is the United States of America we are talking about. America has had actors elected as president! Unlike countries such as the UK, anybody can become president and lead the country. There are hardly any restrictions. That is also sorta the point of democracy... I think Bush got elected because people were fed up with rich snobby politicians who didn't care at all about them. Bush is quite the opposite of that. He is at a much closer level to the general American populace. Besides describing the various interactions of politics and the mistakes of both parties, that is basically it.
