Was Earth the home planet of Humans in this show or not? And where did they come from, Atlantis?
Also if Earth is the Home planet, why hasn't Earth caught up with the colonists if soo many years back they had interstellar travel (I'm assuming the new show will follow the old in assuming that the events of BSG are in the same time as we live in now)?

Dashes: I know, I have seen up to season 2 finale solid, some of season three and I am hoping to watch 4 in it's full run.

Earth is not the home planet, it is the Thirteenth colony of a planet called Kobol. Kobol was the birthplace of mankind.

it's a totaly awesome series. personaly i think it's the best show on television....ever.

Ok, the bsg when out and the colonists went out many years ago and colonized then they got caught by the cylons and so they started searching for their planet of origin which is earth. Actually a mormon wrote for the origional series and the series is all allegorical. The new stuff is really raw and I stopped getting the sci fi channel but the best thing to do would be to start from the beginning of the new series and go from there. It is a bit of a departure from the old series.

Battlestar Galactica replaced into an outstanding tutor till they landed on New Caprica.. it went downhill from there. This season is choosing up somewhat however, too undesirable they desperate to make the hassle over the final season. lol
