My cousin is in her forties. She recently said that she is able to squeeze a drop of liquid from one of her breast. She says there is no lumps or anything else unusual, but that she is able to squeeze out a drop or two of what looks like milk. She's not pregnant, either. What's up? Hormones?

some people even long after having children continue to secrete colustrum. I am not sure how much truth is in that but I knew a woman who had this problem years after she discontinued breastfeeding.

It could also be something called Galactorrhea
which affects women and some men. It can
be caused by a variety of reasons including hormone imbalance, medications, stress and sexual intercourse.
She should check with a doc in case she has a medical problem that is causing this.

There is no problem as long as there is no lump in breast or in armpit which can b checked by breast self examination. Also the fluid u express should not contain blood in which case u may need examination by a doctor nd proper investigation. If u dont hav any such problms nothng needs 2 b done.Dont wory.

She should get this checked out as it is sometimes a symptom of blocked ducts or other medical problem. Better to be safe.

Always a good idea to check with your doctor and to have regular mammograms.

Take care!
