Worse, definitely. There's a load of kids today who have parents who are still kids themselves, and have no idea how to bring up a child. Then there's the interferance of society which currently dictates that you are not allowed to discipline your kids anymore, but find some thing to praise them for, no matter how bad they've been. Children are fast losing the concept of right and wrong.

I have to agree with you 100%. Children nowadays are ruder, less obedient and know too much at a very young age. I think we should blame society and the media. With the entertainment industry being so open about everything and teaches youngsters about adult life at a young age, it's taking their innocence away. What are shows like Dragon Ball Z really teaching our kids? That its okay to use your violence? We're adults and we know that they're just cartoons, but what does a five year old know? He is just being mindless brainwashed. Even the clothes they are selling for children nowadays are unbelievable. Society is becoming so materialistic, teens have their own cell phones so I think it's giving them a sense of independence and maturity. Technology has changed so much and kids are growing up too fast. I don't know, all I know is kids before were not as bad as they are now.

Children are children. They have more IQ nowadays and have computer. But, 20 years ago, there was no computers, here. Behaviour, is somewhat worse today I think. Parents were teaching then, good manners. But, as we see today, children have learnt about every thing they should not at their age. We have an instance a boy aged about 16 killing another one, in one hostel, since he knew the killer boy was drug addict and was a gay.

WORSE.
Speaking in broad generalizations, and realising that not ALL kids are this way.... a lot of "kids" these days are quite selfish, have no work ethic, or respect for authority and are just plain lazy. And attitudes! Dont get me started!
If you think about it we now live in a push-button society. With instant gratification the main focus. Nearly everything is accessible with just the push of a button.
Kids these days really have no real "needs", only wants... And most do not work for their wants, they just demand.
A few of these kids also have no compassion, or empathy, or conscience. Just look at what these kids find funny... things like the jack@ss movies.
Most have no concept of accountability or even what loyalty is. Relationships are disposeable, and the family unit is despised.
It used to be that if you even thought about 'rolling" your eyes at mother...you'd be dead, resurected and killed again.... these kids have a you can't touch me attitude, and they know it!

I think children are more aware of the dangers out there these days and therefore are not inclined to treat strangers with respect.

I think my children are wonderfully mannered and for the most part beautifully behaved when we are in public, however I am horribly biased!

They are worse, the whole society is worse and parents do not set high enough standards for the children.

Worse. My mama would have smacked me silly if I so much as got up out of my chair in a restaurant. I see so many kids climbing around the tables, running around, screaming. Why do parents let their children do this?

I think you are right and the problem is all that crap that some of the parents let thier kids watch on television like Pokemon, Powder puff girls, Digimon, etc. It makes them act strange. Not all kids act that way but from what I've noticed the majorty of the kids who like that stuff seem a little different to me anyways.
