I do....I often use mine without the power cord, though...it's wireless...

Yes you should keep your battery in your laptop intact even though you use your laptop as a desktop, because if you keep your laptop's battery out and it remains non functional for long time then the ions which are charged and discharged during the working time of laptop may become less active and this may result in degradation in your battery's efficiency. So you should keep your laptop's battery within your laptop.

No i wouldn't especially if its plugged in it ruins the battery.
