Don't beat urself up about it or lose no sleep. You've not done the crime of the century and jus fink he's family will live off that for a while and will eat well. That good point overcomes the bad by miles. In future jus slow down for all our sakes.

I did the same thing in France once, when you go through the toll booths on the motorway you are timed between them and they are supposed to hand out speeding fines on the spot, Apparently I averaged 162.2 kph over a 51 kilometer stretch, 50 francs and a decent bottle of Bordeaux red later i was on my way with a smile and a wave.

Well if this did happen as you say, then I would say first YOU are wrong. But I will follow this with yes I believe the cop was just as wrong. A person doesn't become a cop JUST for money. (pay) He becomes a cop tp serve his city/town and to be able to enforce the law NOT break it. There is ethics in being in and serving in law enforcement. He had/has None.

Happens all the time. If you get clamped dont go to the polce station to pay the fine just offer the cop a bribe. He'll do it for about half the fine.

I don't think it's a terrible thing, although obviously you shouldn't really have been speeding in the first place. You are a lot braver than me Knowing my luck I would offer a tenner and be arrested for bribery or something

You know what they say about begging bears in the wild? Don't feed them, and they will be discouraged from coming to humans. The same applies to cops -- don't bribe them, and they will be discouraged from pulling you over.

there is police corruption in the u.k. but its not for speeding, and of course there is corruption in many different places.
it doesnt make it alright, above board and proper.
Of course it is wrong to take part in police corruption, and ten pound is probably a lot of money for a honest cop.
its simple all you have to do is abstain, but if you had said no, who knows what price you would have to pay.
now you have to live with the fact that you indulge in police corruption, and you are not honest.

Not bad. I got out of a ticket once by giving the police officer a bag of Doritos.

fair play to you but was you really speeding, if they know foreigners will pay bribes then they will stop you all the time even if you have done nothing wrong just to get money from you.

the problem is with the system, not you. if the cops need to get bribes to get by they will stop people who werent doing anything wrong, just to get their bribes.

Corruption breeds corruption
