It is up to you. Some people prefer to play it safe, some people go by what they feel. I fell on my back like a thousand times throught out the years when I did gymnastics, ice skating and martial arts. I went to doctor because of this only once when the next day I felt that something isn't righ. It was nothing serious and easily corrected. I'm an amateur dancer now. :-)

Dancing is very good exercise. You probably alrady know that though.
Your back is a very precious thing. Falling on your back can be dangerous. I have fallen on my back heaps of times. If there was no pain afterward, and if you could still move easy enough then there should be no lasting damage. Course it could also mean that the part of your back that you are using at the time was not the injured part. Needless to say if you should start to experience any back pain, go and see a doctor.

You may feel sore a day or 2 after. It usually helps to apply ice packs 2-3 X's a day to area leave it on for 10-15 min. If you start having bad pain go to the Dr. You may want to skip dance for a few days. Let your back rest. Just don't over do it. You can also rotate ice and heat. Ice packs then next time heating pad etc...
good luck

Back injuries can cause problem which are not evident at present, but which will cause complications in the future. My mother was in a car accident when she was very young, Nothing serious, but she did jolt her spinal cord quite some at the time. They looked her over and did not see any real problem. The pain left by the next day. Later however, an orthopaedic foresaw her having serious back problems and an older age. Unfortunately he was correct.
Regardless of your profession, please do go and have a good check. Why take a chance?
