are international borders ethically right? do they really serve any valid purpose? or are they just barricades that are dividing this society ?

why not a world without borders? a single unified military for peace, a single international government, a single currency? wouldn't that solve most of the problems this world is facing?

Even in the 21st century we are so divided! The resistance to a globalised world will mainly come from the developed countries who wouldn't want to share their wealth.
How can we convince the governments and people to raise the borders as that definetly would lead to a more able, just, secure and a peaceful society?

It would be nice. I totally love the idea. I don't think borders are ethically right.

After all, we're all humans on a round planet. It's absurd to divide land up.

Unfortunately it's humans who created them cuz of the divisions in our their minds. Division which could be okay and respected but it's when the "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude comes in things go bad. Vioence kicks in and it's the same drama since the beginning of time. It seems to be human nature to divide, to hate.

A world without borders could be possible but politics will surely enter into---not just politicians from the wealthy, developed countries--politicians are the same in every country: driven by greed, secret agendas, corrupt. Maybe not all of them but the ones who are decent are too small to matter. A one world government would---at this state of our spiritual state---would be disastrous.

Politicians and the bankers, big business are in it for themselves. They have the power in subtle ways and not so subtle ways. If dissolving borders was considered profitable and would give them more power than I'm sure it would have been done a while ago.

Of course, in some conspiracy circles they say a one world government is what all the politicians are striving for. The EU. This is totally seen by them as it being a totalitarian society, a tyranny.

I love this question. I would love to see a unified peaceful planet. It only makes sense! but at this stage of spiritual evolution where people give their power away and want to remain sheep to be herded around, I think a world without borders is near impossible....or if it does happen, it will be constructed by the corrupt and power hungry to make it appear that it's a good thing and will benefit the masses.

Yes, border control is ethically right. Without them, bad people can run rough-shod over innocent people that need be protected, from terrorism, or just plain use and abuse. There are people who are BAD, and want to hurt those who work, live in, and support their county. Some get in, even with border controls. Remember 9/11? Also, Mexican illegals commit more crimes, daily, and annually, than whites in America. 8 children a day, under the age of 12, are sexually abused (raped) by Mexican illegal aliens. Do you think now, that those kind of people should have NO border restrictions? Just come here and do as they please? I say DEFINITELY NO!

That would be nice. Given there was a way to respond to things such as natural disasters without a hinderance of language barriers. Yet I have not figured out how to defy one limitation we all have to adhere to without mechanical means....gravity. Hovering just one inch off the ground will happen before everyone realizes there are bigger problems on the whole.

Believe me I would like to hover.

A world without borders would lead to all the people of the world being subjects of the wealthy few!

Ever heard of the USSR? Everyone's equal? Huge area united under one government? Hideously corrupt leaders?
It's a top-notch idea but it'll never happen in real life.

Borders are very important. Why?.....because people have different values. Look at LA.......a trashcan. There are different religions, values, and ways of life. You can not mix them because if you do you could end up with an automechanic shop next door to your right and the Belgium Man Boy Love club to your left while jihadists stuff grenades down your throat.

That would be a wonderful idea, if this society was spiritually evolved enough to do it for the benefit of all. Unfortunately, this is not the way it would be, at this time in history!

I think the borders keep one country from being over crowded. But even if we got rid of them, we wpuld still think of borders. Not a bad idea though

I find it hard enough sharing a representative government with my fellow Americans. I don't want to even try sharing it with entire cultures that don't have anything even close to our values. Iran? Saudi Arabia? No, thanks. I'm totally comfortable being kept seperate from places like that.
