As with most things in this world, there is no black and white answer to your question. What I can reply is that money doesn't bring happiness as a rule. I depends on a lot of things.
Being poor will eventually bring unhappiness as you will have to constantly struggle for everyday necessities which eventually, will lead to poor health.
I believe that all we really need is enough to cover our basic needs, and remember to enjoy every little thing we see and do regardless of it's value.

Happiness is a state of mind. Wealth is a material effect. No doubt wealth can make you extremely happy but it can make you miserable. Can you imagine having the most expensive diamond in the world and you are then the happiest person. Then one fine evening a thief steals it and you are the most miserable person in the world. But if you are a person of little needs and wants and have a job that is sufficient for you, you would be a happy person without trimmings of wealth.

Not exactly interdependent, but wealth ensures that you keep chasing happiness , through wealth.
Those who do not have wealth also try for it thinking that it may bring happiness, but are also likely to taste happiness without it.
Exceptions are there but rare, and for such persons, wealth remains in the wallet, not their head !

One of the conditions for being happy is being comfortable. And wealth can certainly buy all the comforts in the world.
But comfort by itself is not enough to make people happy.
People need love, friendship and a sense of belonging to the community in order to be truly happy. And in these matters wealth doesn't always help. Sometimes being wealthy makes it more difficult to find true love and friendship.

No...
Most people think that wealth and happiness go hand in hand. Sure... money might make you feel more secure, powerful or better than someone else. Attachment is actually a root of suffering. To be grateful for what you have, and to accept that, helps to make you feel happiness.
I also feel that "wealth" doesn't mean what's in your wallet or bank account. You can also have wealth of spirit, Love, friendship, etc... To be "wealthy" in those areas is much more rewarding. I am Happy... :-)

happiness and wealth r the two sides of the same coin.. if u want happiness - u need wealth and vice-versa..
if u are wealthy u can buy lots of things which gives u comfort... but u cant buy true love even if u r the most wealthist person the world..
happiness comes when u have wealth so tht if u feeling unhappy u can go out and njoy the life with money...
health is wealth... and.. wealth brings health.. and vice-versa

Yes!
You can have all the money in the world and feel that something in your life is missing, that will leave you sad!
sometimes when you are wealthy, you will be judged by stereotypes that are unreal, and you sometimes feel that you cant really see true emotions of people, because they cant see pass your wallet!
But a right blend of them both can be correct!
Have all the people that you love, your education, your job (which gives you wealth) and great friends, then you are happy!
Peace 2 u my friend!

No. According to some studies, Bangladesh is one of the happiest nations in the world (and one of the poorest) while developed nations tend to fall quite low on happiness levels.
Being economics-minded, decisions are made in a world of unlimited wants and limited resources. If you can increase your resources or limit your wants you should be free of some of the stress of hard choices. As in environmentalism, conservation gets short shrift, but is just as valuable in decision making as in keeping the planet green. 'Want less' is a good way to go.
Beyond the basics of life, the rest is just material luxuries that fill the gap of lives devoid of deeper meaning. Although wealth is required to stave off physical deprivation, materialism does not bring happiness.
Peace

Yes. You don't have to be wealthy to be happy. If that were the case there would be a lot of miserable people in the world.
Besides having wealth doesn't necessairly mean you will be happy. From what I have heard the exact opposite occurs.
