Caffeine is probably the major component that would cause anxiousness in that situation, assuming you're drinking real tea tea, not herbal. Try reducing consumption slowly, such as -1 cup/day. If you quit cold turkey, you might experience some withdrawal, which might lead you right back to drinking excessive amounts.

Mg can be calming even though you may not have a real deficiency. But you still need to deal with the excessive tea intake.

Alternatively, you can drink decaffeinated teas. Not as tasty though, but still enjoyable.

Check out the link provided below. It's about coffee, but the caffeine effects also apply to tea.

God says: Moderation in all things. In other words it's wrong to do things in excess. Well I do drink alot of teas but never anxious from them. In fact I find most herbal teas relaxing.
If you're talking about regular tea then you're in the wrong section. Regular tea was called Camela Sinesis.. it was originally a meds to help clear the sineses but ladies took to the habit of drinking it while men took to the habit
of drinking Psychoatria Nervosa (coffee) which also was a meds but to relieve constipation.
If You're too anxious from regular tea then try some Vervain tea or Camomile tea.. warning these may put You to sleep!

It depends on the tea. Some teas actually have caffine. Harsh teas like lipton are oxygenated which means they don't agree with the body. Stick to the mild teas, green leaf teas.

It is more likely the caffeine that is causing you to have anxiety attacks, it happens to lots of people. A good alternative is a good tatsting green tea with hardly any caffeine.

Could be. You might consider switching to herbal teas. I know Tazo has a lot of tea without traditional tea leaves. I'm drinking one called Refresh right now. It's only got mint (peppermint and spearmint) leaves and tarragon in it.
For a pick-me-up, try a mixture of one-half to one tablespoon of raw honey, mixed with one-fourth to one-half teaspoon of cinnamon, and one-half teaspoon of raw cocoa powder.
It will last you longer than an energy drink.
