It's called: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder...
Google that and you'll find lots to read about it.
Something similar to what MONK has..
Lots of people have such things they cannot explain, it can be something you have and live with (light condition) or it can be very heavy that it is an illness.

It sounds exactly like OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). I have it too, but in a different form. I need to make everything even. See a doctor...it can be treated most of the time. You can take medicine, either anti-depressants or anxiety medicine and you can also have behavioral therapy. Make an appointment with a doctor and don't worry about it. So many people have that kind of stuff, and most live through it!
Good luck!

I may not be a physiologist, but just to tell you sincerely that there's nothing wrong with you. Really,I'm like you too! Normally this happens with people with a creative mind,it's a tendency to draw something from your surroundings.

It's a compulsion, like OCD, which is obsessive compulsive disorder. Medication and counseling will help a lot. You can also try to fight it, but that's tough.

It's a habit. The less you do it, the less you'll fell you have to do it.
Just stop doing it. Even if you feel really strange, don't do it. Even if you dwell on it and feel really, really strange, don't do it! Because the less you do it, the less you'll want to do it and the less strange it will feel when you don't do it.

I do the same thing. Don't worry about it, it's perfectly abnormal. I think it's to do with a certain part of your brain comprehending shapes. I've been doing that since childhood. My parents will testify to that.
