Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure Michael J. Fox played the guitar, though it was re-dubbed by a pro, and someone else (Mark Campbell) did the singing and Fox lip-synched it.

Take the old radio off the shelf. the one with the tape deck installed. Call the oldies station in your town and request it.
This is the "low tech" piracy that was so frightening to the music industry years ago that they tried to stop people from buying tape recorders for home use.
