Who told you that bunch of crap? Not every american feels that way. I'm already sick of the stereotypes.

I don't know what you're talking about. Americans love to go to France to vacation. Personally, I feel people are people world-wide. I'm from Oklahoma. I found friendly people on my brief trips in Paris. I felt safe. To me the culture seemed very similar to metroploitan US, such as LA. I enjoyed the company of a lovely French exchange student a few years ago. Many Americans have western european ancestry. My children are half French actually (sperm donor) and his nationality was not even a consideration.

No, the American people get along well with most of the French people. Occasionally I hear that waiters and other service people are rude to Americans who don't speak French well, but that's in Paris, not the provinces. Besides, we get insulted by services workers in our own country!

I am an American and I do not think you are sick. I feel that if we get the politicians out of the way the peoples of the world will find a way to get along.

I think the French have a bad rep with America because of their stereotypical attitude towards America. Personally I could care less.
