Hi there, i took a course in Macromedia Flash so i think i can answer this questions. After you open flash there are the layers at the top, with a lot of frames. Every five frames is equal to a second's length.

To make two moves at the same time, right click on the layer and insert a new layer. Then you can make two movements at the same time. If you want to let it start after the first finishes, just insert the new image on the new keyframe that starts after the first animation ends. You know how to make a simple animation do not you?

You don't have to write a script or anything. I think you've got two movie clips each which has its own animation. You just have to place the movie clips after each other each on a keyframe. But make sure that you put the second movie clip after the frames of the first are over.
