When we could have chosen an easier path or chosen to do something that would benefit ourselves, we can instead chose to behave in a way that would benefit someone else. At the moment you make the choice and provide the behavior that benefits another person, then you know your own goodness.

When you do something for someone and you know it was a benefit to them. Then regardless of their reaction afterward (in my experience most of the time it has been a negative reaction), you know you tried.
