That topic doesn't make any sense. Do you mean "How does it pay to be modest?" I have to say this demonstrates to me that you need to figure out how to write this essay. I would suggest if you want any help here you write the first paragraph on your own and then post it for some help with the grammar. It sounds like an opinion piece and as a teacher I would be wanting to hear your opinion and not the opinion of someone here on the internet.

I know this problem so well. It may sound stupid but a technic that worked very well for me was to start by writing "this is the place where the introduction should be." that actually started me writing. Of course I wrote everything on my PC, if you are writing on paper this technic is not really an option unless you are doing a draft then copying it out after, which let's face it, you don't want to if you can avoid it.
Another useful tool is an essay plan. Especially with a very short essay like this one. It took me years to learn how to do one but once you get the hang of it they are great, especially in a timed exercise like an exam. On a piece of rough paper make notes of what you want to say then put them in the order you want to say them. That should make the whole process much easier.

You could think of something that happened in your life that made you realize how advantageous it was to be modest.
