In 'The Periodic Table of The Elements', wikipedia says...

The periodic table of the chemical elements is a tabular method of displaying the chemical elements, first devised in 1869 by the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev. Mendeleev intended the table to illustrate recurring ("periodic") trends in the properties of the elements.

So it means 'recurring' in this context, where the same properties occur in a group of elements, such as sodium, pottasium and lithium metals all giving off hydrogen if put into water.

There may be other meanings of periodic within chemistry.

Periodic means repetation. In a periodic table, properties of elements repeat after a certain period in terms of atomic number, for 1st two rows, the period is 8 and for 3rd to 7th its 32.
