Hello I am an older gent who has to buy his own deodorants. I like the aerosol ones, but I do not like the powdery type. I prefer the liquid sprays. I am on a limited budget so I choose these things with great care.

I was annoyed recently to have bought a 200ml aerosol of "Arrid Extra Extra dry XX for men" which, when used, splatters some kind of powdery residue all over my shirts.

So my question is this. Is it possible to tell from the packaging whether a deodorant is based on powder or liquid? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi this is also the same for women as well, and Arrid is the worse one for doing this to cloths it also take the colouring out of the clothes to. I know you are on a limited budget but you dont need to buy ones like these as these are cheap and nasty. I have tried all the dear ones as well and most do the same or dont do there jobs properly. There is no way to tell if the deodrant is powdery or liquid but most sprays are like sure etc any in a can are powder, you can tell because if you manage to spary the deodrant in to the lid you will see the residue. And the only way you will tell if its a liquid is if its in a rollerball form or has a pump spary but i dont know wheather you can get these anymore,

You can get roll ons but make sure to let them dry which i assue you would do with the liquids, but if you are going to sprays then I recommend ASDAs or Tesco own anti persperant deodrants they do 24 hour ones and they even do a clear on so it doesnt leave white marks and they arnt expensive.

Aerosol deodrants are liquid but they contain little particles that I suppose are similar to talc. Try spraying further away from you, leaving your shirt off until it has dried or go for a deodrant that isn't an anti-perspirant as I think these are the ones that go powdery. I use Bionsen which has a unisex fragrance and I think it may come in a spray but it leaves no white marks whatsoever

I'm not buying it. You asked at least ten questions about deodorant in the past few days. One would think it is some sort of fetish or that you are a door to door deodorant salesman.

Don't think it's possible to tell no, but if you try either Lynxx or Sure and spray it from about 4 inches away it should be ok. Sometimes they are on offer in Superdrug.

All antiperspirant's are powdery, if you want one that not go for a body spray. i.e Lynx
although these are really just for spraying your body and not disguising your sweat.

antiperspirants are specifically for under your arms.

when using powder types - spray from a distance without your shirt on and move left to right - you only need one spray or it sticks your arm together.

well dont buy anti-presperant ones as they leave the residue. use a roll-on or askin your local chemist what arisol deodrants are not anti-presprint and it should say in all the cans so check before you buy
