Do you think Boxer was right to tell Rice that she had no one involved in her stand to send more children into harms way? Or do you think Rice was right to say, she thought women had come further than to worry about other peoples children?

Boxer is the one that's right. Boxer is a representive of the American people so the children of the people who put her in office will be effected by sending more troops into war.
Where this is not a woman's issue. It has nothing to do with other people children it has to do with American going to war and dying!!!
Boxer might have been wrong from the way she yelled. However he sentiments ring true.
Many times on this forum I have stated a draft should be started and that every person who is graduating high school should go no expection. Therefore congress would thing twice about sending people to war if it was not 100 percent necessary. So we know if Boxers family was involved she would not want to send them. It's really important when a politician can truely put themselves in a voters shoes.

Boxer made several telling points with Rice; however, the crack about not having any kids in the conflict was uncalled for and rude. I believe that Rice is a Bush stooge but she is a nice lady who is trying to do her job (not very well in my mind) and she should not be attacked in the manner that Boxer attacked her. These hearings must be kept on a high plane and occasionally the senators forget this fact. I was sorry for Rice, but she kept her cool.

It's a typical Liberal ploy...to attack the individual on a personal level versus the issue being discussed.

Using Boxer's logic, a person with a spouse, sibling, nephew, parent, cousin, good friend must not have any right to make such decisions either. It's a stupid premise...and it was certainly anti-feminist, which puts Boxer squarely in the HYPOCRITE category, since in all other situations, she is a flaming feminist.

Her comment had nothing to do with the hearings that were going on with rice. regardless of her personnel feelings , that was a grandstanding comment only. It shows her disrespect for any administration official and was said for pure show and that was all. Still waiting for apology for her offensive remarks, even though she may have not meant it that way. A true leader will take into account their opponent and show respect when the stage was about Iraq and not a judgmental hearing on Rice.

Boxer has never served in the military so has no right to ask any questions about what Rice thinks about it.

No. And it goes to show you [again] that the Democrats ran on a platform of lies. Bipartisan? Ethical ?
