can't you just play sick?

You don't need an excuse, just be 100% honest it is the best plan to get out of something. Just say I can't come if they press you for a reason just apologize and say it is personal. if they still persist say I don't like you. (just kidding about the last item)

A lot of people would probably play "sick", but that's too commonly used and people will get suspicious. I'd just make up some "family emergency." Remember the key is to pretend to be bummed that you had to cancel the plans...you know... "I'm really sorry and I really wanted to go, but I just..I just can't. I'm so bummed!! Have fun for me, okay?" You have to make it convincing. Good luck!

Well I always use the fact that I am a senior law student as an excuse... It is very reasonable.... Doubt it will work for you unless you are a student, SO put a piece of chalk under your tongue, it will make you pass out.. Just do this where somebody can see you

Sorry, i cant make it, I have to meet Mr. T so I can be his stunt double for when he busts through walls

or

sorry i couldn't make it, I crashed my car into a ravine, and rolled my car over, and my once seatbelt, a safety harness, was now, a flaming strap O death if you will, and as I was rolling I explicitly said "Now I'll never get to that important thing!"

well just tell them that you made previous plans.. and until now you had completely forgotten you'd even made the plans,.. and can not for any reason get out of the situation, and tell them sorry, that you will make up for it at a later time.. if they are your friends or family, I'm sure they will understand.. if not.. they will just have to deal with it.. tough cookies!!..

usually, when in the same situation and i do not like to lie...

i just call whoever it was i'm supposed to meet and say in my most serious, worried and panicky voice " i am so sorry i can't make it. something came up but i can't tell you yet. it's a long story and i'll tell you everything next time i see you. thanks and really sorry."

How about the truth? Or if they don't understand, just say, "an emergency has come up and I cannot come. I can't explain now. Sorry I can't make it."

Unforseen circumstances that are of a personal nature you'd rather not go into right now....buys time if nothing else!

bath, wash you hair and dun dry it. stand in front of a fan or air conditioner with it blowing right in your head. do that for a few days, depending on how weak is your body..you'll get sick pretty soon..

My back hurts, but usually it is quite true and not a lie at all.
