I can't find a job. I live in a town of over-inflated egos and arrogant, pompus anusholes that seem to get their gratification out of seeing me fail miserably in my personal life. Should I consider moving out of "Hickville, U.S.A."?

I'm in a small town too, also full of over inflated egos. I moved here from a major city so those egos amuse me to no end with their pious bigotry and narrow mindedness. As with most small towns, jobs are tough to come by, especially if the locals do not like you. Sometimes the best thing for you is to make a clean break and start over. Just be sure it's the town and it's inhabitants that are making your life so unhappy, and not your own attitude and behavior. After all, wherever you go, there you are. If your own attitude is the problem, it will not matter where you move to because before long you will be complaining about all the pompus aholes again.

When an employer is looking for an employee, they are looking for someone who will be an asset to their company as well as able to do the job. So they are looking for someone with a good attitude, which you seem to lack, someone who will take responsibility for own work assignments without blaming someone else for errors (again something you seem to lack). They could care less that you are unable to find a job & are busy trying to find the appropriate person to do the work at hand. They have better things to do than stroke your ego which may be inflated. So,don't you think its time to reasses your capabilities & take responsibility for yourself? Its clear you need an attitude adjustment & perhaps counseling will help you.

I am in the same situation. Don't listen to the first post, it is pure BS. I too have had a horrible time finding a job. So has my BF, and he is an 8 year veteran of the Army. I say if you can get out, go. We are basically stuck here because we can never seem to get enough money to move. If you can get out, do so immediatly.

Look to your past behavior for the answer to this question. A fresh start in a new town may be of some help.

I would recommend an attitude adjustment, an honest assessment of your own character and behaviour, and some heavy duty counseling. Chances are, you are going to experience similar difficulties until YOU make some changes within yourself.
