If you move from your native land to another native land do you leave your heritage behind?

Do you adopt the ways of the place you are in or are you still beholding to your native land? I as an American Native know no other land and want no other land and I carry my heritage with me. No matter what state I am in I don't change my heritage. But I see that people transplant themselves into different places but still carry their heritage with them and don't let go isn't that true?
I suppose if I transplanted myself I would do the same. But I wouldn't try to change, to disguise myself to be one of them. After all I might bring a dash of color into it that might be appreciated, this time around? But I think we would all rather have our own heritage right? So what is an American? A blend? An imposition to others? no offense meant but this is being said all over this site. Or is it just a bunch of aggressors?

Your heritage is your family. When you leave your family, you leave your heritage.

The only way a "region" or "land" can have claim on your heritage is if your family is part of a larger tribal unit with strong traditions.

(The word "heritage" has the same root as "inheritance". You can take your heritage with you wherever you go, but it means taking your family memories and heirlooms with you. I accomplish this by collecting as many family artifacts and histories as possible. I intend to make them a gift to my son when he's old enough to appreciate them.)

A heritage is what makes a person have an identity, its not something to flaunt. That you are seeing others do so just says that they are insecure. Allow them their fear but don't join in unless your invited because heritages can only be shared with receptive audiences.

It is not anything of fully throwing out your heritage, but, adapting to the Country you moved to in respect of their people, to know a little of their ways...No ....definitely do not throw out your heritage, but also get yourself to acknowledge the ways and culture of your new home.
