It means that you still don't know.
Here's how you tell if you're pregnant:
The moment your monthly egg becomes something other than an egg, your body is taxed for nutrients, you begin developing a new coctail of hormones, and you have a parasitic infection (that's really what a fetus is--it's feeding off of you).
You also begin to have some really obvious symptoms by your second month, like nausea and sleeping 12 hours every day. The changes in your body can cause mood swings but not everyone goes through this. My wife has incredible self-control and a stable personality. When I told her she was pregnant, she didn't believe me. She expected mood swings and nausea and didn't get either.
You should know within a 4-6 weeks just by the changes you're going through.
If you're still not sure, take two or three tests. If they keep coming up negative or vague, you're probably not prego.
The moment you have a clear positive, it's time to think about a ob/gyn appointment so that you can be certain and start getting the follow-ups.

A line can take a while to appear if you are testing early ( a few days after your period) but remember not to read the result after the time span it gives on the box because apparently our urine sample is affected by chemicals after 10 mins or so (thats usually the upper limit they tell you to read the test up until, and disregard any result that comes up thereafter) So as long as you read the result within their time guidelines then the fact that its faint shouldnt make the blindest bit of difference. With all 3 of my pregnancies I have always had to wait over a week to get a positive result and even then the lines havent always been very dark...my first pregnancy with my son, the result was so faint I had to ask others if it was there or if I was imagining it. Maybe to put your mind at ease do another test early in the morning with first morning urine (gives you the highest levels of preg hormone). Goodluck, hope you get the result you want!!

I am not sure what you mean. If you are talking about the line that indicates pregnancy (not the control line) and you waited the specified amount of time in the instructions then you are pregnant. A faint line is still a line. Sometimes when you test early on the line will be faint until the hormone levels are higher in your urine.
Congrats!

Well, the line comes up right away, but you have to give it like 3 minutes. Then as per the package instructions, a line or a plus indicates pregnancy or not. And its usually accurate, even if its faint. As long as the lines appear, that is you result.

Hi.
Yes - the first test I took came up positive - the next 5 (including at the chemist and with first morning wee) came back negative!
It may just mean that you are in the very very early stages and the levels of pregnancy hormone are not strong enough to detect consitently.
If you've had a positive result then you are very probably pregnant as a 'false positive' result is far far less likely than a 'false negative' result. Good luck!

When you are pregnant your body releases a hormone, that can only be released by a pregnant woman... the longer you have been pregnant for the more this hormone increases...this is the hormone that is being checked for in the tests...so, if you had a very faint line and it took ages...that means you are only a few weeks (maybe even days) pregnant...but it is not possible to sow as pregnant unless you have this hormone in your urine..and you DO NOT have this hormone unless you are pregnant..

It happend to me before andI called the 1-800 number on the back of the pregnacy test. The woman told me that the reason the line is faint is because you are more pregnant than you think. When I went to the Dr. It was confirmed that I was further along than I thought.

Mine did. One though took ages too. It was positive but I couldn't help thinking finally. I even thought I might have took it wrong. Turns out it was just slow to cross into the other box. The other two were super fast.
Also, make sure you take your prenatals and get to the doctor. It is very very likely congratulations are in order if you didn't wait 5 minutes or more whatever the directions say, then it is more than likely correct.

It means your pregnant as long as you read it within the required time say 3 mins. if u read it after that i would do a retest as it is possible for the second line 2 appear as the test starts to dry out.. Hope either way u get the result u want..

It means you are pregnant lmfao. I took probably 100 friggin tests when I foudn the light lines. All were light got darker as the days went by. My first few tests didnt come up till after th ten minute period. I think it is rare to get the ghost line after ten minutes cuz all my negative tests have always stayed clear. You are pregnant more than likely
