They like to tell us they are our "ally." What do they mean by this? It seems to me that our relationship is all "we give and they take."

The allied part was more pronounced during the Cold War. The U.S. sucks at human spying (called human intelligence). The CIA is more Agent 86 than Agent 007. Israel is actually very good at it and complemented the code breaking and gadget spying of the U.S. The U.S. breaks the Iranian military codes for the Israelis (and get pictures of Iran's military complexes) and the Israelis tell the CIA what the Iranians are doing behind closed doors.

Israel receive more than 20 billions $ each year from American taxpayers without their consent: 3.7B$ from the Congress Foreign Aid Program, 10B$ Free Loans Guarantee, and 6 to 10 B$ from USA Tax System Loophole as Charity money deducted from American JEWS Taxs to be sent to Israeli Settlements.
