It's a normal behavior but a dangerous one as well. Teenagers are very keen to discover new things in life and they think that their parents are obstruction for them.
Most of teenagers get influenced or impressed by modern ideas of independent living. In this thought they start to completely disobey their parents.
But as they grow old they again start respecting their parents because they learn more about life.
Parents also have some part in this behavior. Some parents oppose every idea of children. They think that its impractical or risky. Children's confidence and talent is overlooked by majority of this parents. This is also a reason why many teenagers disobey their parents.
