6 months ago, I gave in my Religious Education assesment on the Virgin Birth. I was told that when she got it, it was "very good" but had to be sent to County Hall RE co-ordinator, as I was trying for a level 8 and she couldn't mark that syllabus.
So, since then I've been asking several times a week wether she's got it back. All the time it was "No, it hasn't been sent back yet" until one day, she said, "The head of RE have sent an email to the woman at county hall to get it back",
Since then, it was "nothing back yet" until I was told that I got a level 8. Later on last year, I was told it was a 7, then last week a mid-6.
So, last week I said I wanted it back and I would be contacting County Hall directly and I would complain at the time. I got it back the next day - it hadn't been sent off in the first place.
So, both teachers must have lied when they said it was sent off to County Hall, and when they said they emailed them. I'm not happy about it AT ALL and wanted to know

... wether or not I have grounds for a Formal Complaint to the Headteacher, or, County Hall.
Has anyone had any similar experience?
Which is the best option, as the teachers I would make a complaint against would be teaching me for another year.
Saying that, I'm not letting it rest.
So, any advice please?
Thanks

I had a problem with my son's school. After many 'phone calls and letters I had not even got to speak to the Head Teacher. I called the county LEA. The next thing was a 'phone call from the head of the governers. He started off in an agressive manner and said "How dare you call county behind our back" When I explained my situation and that this matter had been dragging on for months the tone changed. The problem was fixed. You will never get a "Sorry" as this would indicate there had been a problem in the first place. Take your matter as far as you need to and never be scared of people. Just because they are in education does not make them imune from answering for their actions. Remember "Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach"

Good answer from ANF, in addition, I hope you kept a copy? Are you in the UK? I don't understand why it should go to County Hall in the first place. Any moderation should surely be done within the school and then by the examining board. If this was for an external examination board, you have the right of appeal but the school needs to make the appeal so if your teacher is not co-operating, then you need to work closely with her line manager-Head of Department, Director of Studies or Principal. It a grim story! Good luck.

Complain this is a serious muddle and it seems like they were deliberately lying.

Make a complaint, you need this cleared up as soon as possible. And it should not matter whether theyare your teachers next year or not. If they treat you differently, well you have some crap teachers! And you have grounds to make yet another complaint.

Arrogant teachers and administrators. My guess is that your paper has been lost and while they have been stalling you they have been frantically trying to find it. Put in a formal complaint to the County Council and send a copy to the your local MP.

Speak to the Principal about the matter first rather than go over his/her head. He/she has a right to know what is going on in the school.
