Blue tooth is a wireless electronic device that sends the computer information threw the air wave like a TV or radio station does and anyone on the network this is another computer that has a receiver and transmitter that can receive the information from each other, Another way of saying it is it is like a wireless telephone that has the receiver not wired. It works a long the same lines as your cordless phone. It is a radio signal that operates at 2.4ghz. It is a very short range radio transmitter/receiver set up with transfer rate of around 3mbs

Bluetooth uses radio waves (2.4GHz) just like Wi-Fi to transmit data. it has less bandwidth (less data can be sent and recieved compared to a Ethernet LAN) and a shorter range. it was basically designed for short range communication between hand held devices, like a mobile phone to PDA, mobile phone to wireless headset, mobile to mobile, etc...
