First, find out what your duties would be (what you can and can't do). Learn all you can about what you'd be doing during your term. Then, let the student body know that you will always be available to listen to whatever issues they feel is important, and represent those issues at your meetings. Let them know that you will work hard to make sure that their voices will be heard, and that you will keep them informed of the decisions made. No matter how young or old you are, you want to know that your issues are heard and have gotten a response. If this is the kind of person you are, then let them know that by voting for you, they're voting for their own voice. If you do end up getting elected, then fulfill your promises. Show them that not everyone forgets who put them in office, and do a great job. <*)))><

You can convince the students to vote for you by using the persuasive writing skills you have learned in school. Find one issue that the majority of the school is concerned with, and write a speech that explains the steps you are going to take to resolve that issue.
Focus on one issue. If you try to address too many issues it will look like you are just trying to tell people what they want to hear and that will put people off.
Another reason to stick to one issue is the two minute time period. Within two minutes you will be able to give your audience plenty of details as to how you are going to resolve one issue; you may not have time to make a convincing argument if you try to address multiple issues.

no more flowery yet untrue words.and no more cliches please.actions speak louder that words.make your speech direct to the point.tell them your agenda.and in a way make them feel your passion for leadership and that you are serious with this.but do not beg or sound so hopeless.it would make you look less like a leader.and body language does help(like proper gestures).look straight into their eyes.and have a good posture.it will radiate your respectful and serious intention.

Best thing to do would be to tell them what you can do for them. If you want them to vote for you, they have to know why. Why should they vote for you over someone else for eg. Be honest because if you lie and win the election you will soon be found out.
