hmm toughy. Carravaggio! Because I love his use of tone. He inspired me for VCE studio arts and helped me develop my own style in photography. I'd love to be able to paint though, and i'd love to be able to paint like him.

I really like Kathe Kollwitz's drawings and plates, I love the tone and texture and her extraordinary ability to express human suffering in artistic terms. But above all her expressionistic dark style its what I like best.

Andrea Del Sarto. For his sensuality and use of texture and imagery (see St. John the Baptist). Yves Klein. For his banality and nihilism and ridiculous hipocrisy (see all works). Andy Warhol. For his gentleness, innovation and lack of hard work.

Chuck Close, as his works have different levels to them. Far away, they're amazingly life like, but up close, you can see they're made out of tiny squares or circles of colour and swirls. Kinda neo-impressionist you could say.
