where can I learn how to wall / rock climbing in singapore?

I don't know of any places you can do it in Singapore, but I have been a climbing instructor for a few years now and I learned from another climber. He taught me everything I know.

So what I'm getting at is your best bet would to be to find an experienced climber who can help you with selecting gear and teach you how to use the equipment, tie knots, techniques, etc.

Another thing, indoor and outdoor climbing are very very different, although they use the same BASIC gear. Both are very fun. Just make sure you have someone with you who knows what they are doing. If you search online for any climbing gyms, I can almost guarantee that they will ahve instruction available there for you.

Look in the phone directory or on Yahoo! Local (there is a tab above the search engine on the Yahoo! homepage). When you go to a wall or indoor rock climbing facility, the staff completely sets you up and walks you through it all. Very cool stuff!

I never did both. But I think rock climbing will be zillion times better.
