Federal Income Tax was created during the civil war as a means to better fund the federal government over having it depend on duties and tariffs alone. Like said eariler 16th amendment allowed it under the Lincoln administration.

zz and reader are correct, the IRS does not really exist, the courts that have ruled taxes are lawful they do not exist, the news articles about IRS making people pay taxes or going to jail are commie propaganda, actual the gov't does not exist or if it does it operates on free-will donations. Federal highways are built by unpaid volunteers, the troops work and die because it's fun and no one pays them. Eat some more Twinkies and stay in Fantasyland.

Title 26 - Internal Revenue Code

Tax Protestors have a great record in court. They have won a grand total of ZERO cases claiming that they do not have to file or pay income taxes. Not a great track record.

if you ever get a chance take a look at the constitution
the 16th amendment states that you are required to pay taxes.
if you don't pay on the 15th they'll get you with the 16th
in other words taxes are due April 15 because of the 16th amendment

It is part of the US constitution, namely the 16th Ammendment. It would be illegal not to. Let me quote it for you:

Amendment XVI

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
