A friend at work said her "friend-of-a-friend" tried the lemonade diet, apparently celebs are doing it, but she says her friend dropped like 40lbs in 6-7 weeks. I'm desperate to drop some weight. What are the results that anyone has had? (you - not "friends")

I have personally done this cleanse quite a few times from 2004 onward for periods ranging from 3 to 30 days.
The Master Cleanse (or the Lemonade Diet) by Stanley Burroughs is, in my opinion, the fastest and most effective way to regain your vitality and to feel the joy of living again, never mind that it will help you lose weight and give you astounding energy it worked pretty well for me several times, it's kinda like a twist on a fasting program, may be the best diet for losing weight fast and cleansing the body at the same time good luck! I lost about the same as your friend lbs38 the first time a little less each time after, but then I had less to loose :-D

You lose muscle, not fat. It changes your metabolism so you gain the weight back quick and it's even harder to lose the next time. It also gives you that starvation look, where your cheeks are hollow and your belly looks more round, like starving kids in Africa.

Better to eat lots of vegetables and a little protein, like a piece of chicken breast the size of your palm. Or, you can try a vegetarian diet, but it has to be true vegetarian, with lots of vegetables, grains and some nuts. Maybe even vegan will work for you. It's a little slower, but it works and it's a lot healthier, and you can live with it.

hey well we all have a habit of achieving somethin without working hard, i also tried to lose weight and lost 8 kgs........but it was mainly because of diet control and exercise...lemonade was a part of my diet and that helped me but not alone.....i'll suggest you that the safest method to lose weight is diet control(and not dieting) and exercise......u can always include lemonade but be careful it should be maximum for a month then you should stop it for say 1 month and again start it as excess of lemon starts burning tissues......so all the best and if you want any help u can contact me

it's a trendy, dangerous, and patently idiotic load of crap. Sure, starve yourself and you'll lose a lot of weight. What a newsflash.

If you want to lose weight, consume fewer calories and exercise more. Eat a lot of poached fish, nothing fried, steamed greens, etc., etc. Losing more than three or four pounds a week is not a good idea, typically.

All the shortcuts diets are crap. They'll make you feel lousy at best and make you downright sick or kill you at worst.
