elevate it.. DONT walk on it. just give it time to heal.. he may not be ready for basketball by feb. as for exercises when he gets his bandage off.. tell him to SLOWLY rotate his ankle..if it hurts too much at first dont push it.. stop and take a break. ive sprained my ankle way too many times to count, so i know what hes going through.

I had an same problem, except I waited too lengthy and it delivered about surgical operation. My suggestion will be to attend a week or so. chorus from taking section in basketball in the time of that aspect (i recognize it receives you in vast hassle with the coach, yet do it. a prepare/sport is now. Your well-being is for all the existence). attempt to maintain as a lot weight off of that foot as conceivable. Use crutches or something to take weight off of it. also, attempt to prop your foot up once you're idle, even at school. The decrease back of a persons chair works fantastic. Ice, ice, ice! And ibuprofen! Take advil religiously. If that's something that would not require a forged, then it truly is the therapy and also you'd be getting a headstart. both way, it will keep swelling down and shrink discomfort. X-Rays are more desirable precise at the same time as the problem section isn't inflammed. in case you nonetheless are experiencing discomfort after that resting week, get and MRI. do not diddle round with X-Rays: they are not almost as precise and are basically 2-D. MRIs enable medical doctors see the interior your body (i'm particular you recognize this). attempt to get an appointment with an orthopedic physician around the time of the MRI. That way, you've the opinion of a specialist foot physician as well because the opinion of the specialist MRI operators. this may very much shrink the prospect of them lacking something necessary. precis? relax Ice Elevation Advil ...and then... Orthopedic physician MRI (at the same time as protecting the regiment of the first 4) desire this became effective! ^^

it depends where the stress is. are you sure he didn't say stress fracture? he shouldn't be walking on it. that's why the doc gave him crutches. he needs to let it heal completely. as for feb. he needs to go back and ask his doctor. he wouldn't want to cause permanent damage by doing something stupid too early!
