Yes. Vaastu shastra is an ancient science which helps a person or more to get the natural benefits offered by the five basic elements of the universe in which we live in. These basic elements are Akash (SKY), Prithvi (EARTH), Paani (WATER), Agni (FIRE), and Vayu (WIND).

Vaastu is Ancient Architecture and presently it has been mixed up with astrology and Feng Shui.
It's very difficult to make a house fully as per vaastu as the scenario has changed and there is no point to follow one or two rules and avoiding others for various constraints.

Well, Vastu is like Feng Shui. It's an arrangements of living and inanimate objects for positive energy flow. It's meant to improve your life. However, Indians have horrendously decorated houses and rarely live a life of piece and tranquility. I would suggest looking at Feng Shui. The Chinese have had much better financial successes and quality of life.

Yes. It comes from "the Vedas," the ancient Indian texts cognized over 5,000 yeras ago by the rishis, or seers, while in deep meditation. I know bec its a "sister science" to Ayurvedic medicine, which I have studied, as well as to YOGA.
