Lucky Charms graphing...pour each student one cup of lucky's charms cereal and have them set up a bar graph to color up how many of each marshmallow shape they got and then have the class compare their results.

Is this a game that you need to make, or can a board game work? Upper elementary students love Monopoly, and it's good for adding and making change. Adapt it so the banker changes with every round, to give equal practice.) Mancala is an ancient Egyptian game that is also very popular. It's easy enough for second graders, and can be made with simple materials like an egg carton and dried beans.

At the end of the book The Blue Djinn of Babylon (sequel to Children of the Lamp--a popular fantasy novel) is a neat logic game called djinnverso. Played with a set of 8-sided dice, it requires the players to bluff and think logically.

A favorite math game for elementary students is 24. It's easy to learn and reinforces basic facts.

Turn your students into tic-tac-toe game pieces. Tape off the floor to look like the gameboard. Divide your students (or classmates, in your case) into X's and O's. Pick any math concept at all (multiplication, for example) and have students take turns answering the questions. If the student on the X team gets it right, they can become the X on the gameboard. This can be used with all subjects (not just math), but it incorporates math by playing such a simple and timeless game. :)

Counting the ceiling tile, the bricks in the wall, the floor tile, the windows, counting, counting, counting whatever. Make them record the totals and submit them. Good real life clerk training.
